Methodology

The WCC Analyst-Vetted Methodology

Disposition: Independent Brokerage & Fee Scrutiny.

Our methodology is built on 30 years of FCA-grade banking oversight. We don't just compare prices; we audit the "pipes" of global commerce to identify retail margin leakage.

At WiseChoiceCompare, our mission is to move beyond headline rates and provide patrons with the True Cost of financial decisions. Every comparison, ranking, and score is derived from our proprietary Value For Money (VFM) framework, overseen by the Founder and Lead Financial Analyst.

👤 The Who: Oversight and Authority

WCC’s analysis is not generated by an anonymous algorithm but is defined and audited by a human professional who ensures the integrity and compliance of our scoring logic.

  • The Analyst: The VFM scoring methodology is managed by Collins A EBEA, Founder and Lead Financial Analyst. Collins A EBEA brings more than three decades of experience in the finance and accounting industries, as a professional Banker and Accountant, to ensure our framework adheres to strict standards of transparency and fairness.
  • The Role: The Founder and Lead Financial Analyst is responsible for:
    • Logic Integrity: Guaranteeing the VFM Algorithm accurately models true consumer cost.
    • Compliance Audit: Overseeing the site’s liability and disclosure practices.
    • Data Vetting: Approving all external data sources used for comparison.

⚙️ The How: Our Value For Money (VFM) Framework

We believe true comparison requires looking beyond the advertised rate. Our system calculates the VFM Score by applying our True Cost Arbitrage Engine to every offer.

  • 1. Beyond APR: We do not rely solely on the Annual Percentage Rate (APR). The VFM framework models the True Effective APR by factoring in all required upfront and backend fees associated with a product.
  • 2. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Our proprietary engine models the TCO over the typical life of the product (e.g., 60-month loan term, 12-month credit card intro period). This prevents patrons from being lured by low introductory offers that hide high long-term costs.
  • 3. Scoring Integrity: The VFM Score (from 1.0 to 10.0) is assigned based on where the provider ranks against the current weighted market average TCO. A higher VFM score equals better value for the patron.

⚖️ The Objectivity: Data Integrity and Review

Our commitment to objectivity is protected through continuous data sourcing and transparency:

  • Continuous Sourcing: Our database is updated weekly via direct feeds and automated checks to ensure all advertised rates, terms, and conditions are current. Every comparison grid contains a “Last Updated” timestamp, managed by the Analyst’s team.
  • Third-Party Citation: Where market averages or baseline rates are referenced, WCC cites official, public sources (e.g., Federal Reserve reports, industry regulatory bodies).
  • Analyst Review: All new comparison categories or scoring model updates require final sign-off from the Founder and Lead Financial Analyst before publication, guaranteeing consistency across all four pillars.

🛡️ A Note on Liability (Compliance Reinforcement)

WCC provides proprietary analysis only. We are not financial advisors. This methodology is designed to provide guidance; the patron is solely responsible for verifying all final rates, terms, and contract details directly with the service provider.
